Mr Mark Kennelly

CEO, Golf Ireland

Mark Kennelly served as Chief of Staff at the Department of the Taoiseach throughout Taoiseach Enda Kenny’s terms of office (2011 to 2017). He previously worked in a range of senior policy and political roles in Fine Gael, including as Chef de Cabinet to Opposition Leaders Enda Kenny and Michael Noonan.
He began his career at the European Parliament in Brussels. Originally from Killarney, Mark studied at the University of Limerick from 1986 to 1990, graduating with a BA in Public Administration.
In December 2019 Mark Kennelly took up his role as the first Chief Executive Officer of Golf Ireland, the new single governing body aimed at ensuring golf will continue to grow and flourish in Ireland in the future.
Mr Kennelly also operates his own strategic advisory business, focusing on public and European Union affairs, communications and crisis management.
