Irish American, Professor Tom Moylan was the first permanent occupant of the Glucksman Chair at the University of Limerick in 2002. He has an international reputation for his work on science fiction, utopian thought and cultural studies and has been translated into German and Italian. The establishment of the Glucksman Chair has enabled the University of Limerick to develop its profile in the area of Contemporary Writing and has further strengthened its commitment to the arts.
