In May, five students from the Bachelor of Education in Languages programme were granted prestigious Embassy of France in Ireland and UL Foundation Scholarship awards by the University of Limerick.
The Foundation is delighted to partner with the Embassy of France in Ireland to jointly fund these scholarships, supporting future French language teachers through a pioneering collaboration. The awards, valued at over €2,300 each, helped support the students during a four-week immersive teaching and learning programme CAVILAM – Alliance Française in Vichy, France, in partnership with the the University of Clermont-Auvergne.
During their stay in Vichy, the scholarship recipients participated in a variety of interactive workshops and cultural activities, designed to strengthen both their French language proficiency and pedagogical skills.
By living and learning in France, the students gained first-hand experience of French culture, enriching their understanding of the language and enhancing their future teaching practice.
