Congratulations to our Director, Mr Aongus Hegarty, who received the prestigious Whitaker Award from the Irish Academy of Management (IAM) recently. The award is presented to those the Academy believes have made an exceptional and lifelong contribution to Irish business and society.
Joined by his wife Martina, Mr Hegarty said ‘I am reminded of Whitaker’s commitment to public service and the common good. Leadership, as he demonstrated, isn’t just about holding a position of power but about the responsibility to serve and uplift society—values I’ve always aimed to uphold. I’m honored to join the distinguished ranks of past recipients and look forward to ongoing collaboration and innovation within the IAM community as we navigate the future of leadership and management in Ireland. Reflecting on T.K. Whitaker’s legacy, his vision for economic renewal in the 1950s laid the foundation for Ireland’s transformation into a dynamic, globalised economy. His leadership, balancing pragmatism with vision, continues to inspire. Whitaker’s principle of prioritising long-term, sustainable growth over short-term gains has been a guiding force in my career, particularly in today’s fast-paced and ever-changing global landscape.’ More here
