Ways to Give

The University of Limerick has prospered thanks to the generous support from many friends, alumni, foundations and corporations around the world. By supporting the University of Limerick Foundation, you are helping to ensure the continuation of this rapid and impressive development.

We offer our supporters a variety of options for making tax efficient donations to the University of Limerick through its Foundation. Online donations are a quick and secure way to support UL. Alumni of UL are strongly encouraged to support their University by giving to the Annual Fund and the Foundation has also established the Plassey Society whereby individuals and organisations may become contributing friends of the Foundation.

We welcome your participation in our quest to be internationally renowned as a distinctive university which shapes the future through educating and empowering people to meet the real challenges of tomorrow.

Matched Gifts

If your employer (or that of your spouse) has a matching gift programme, the impact of your gift can multiply with a corporate match. Please contact your employer’s personnel or employee benefits office to enquire if they have a matching gift programme. If one exists, please let us know, so that we can register for the programme with your employer, as an approved charity.

Bequests

Bequests to the University can have a very direct impact on the lives of students and can also make a huge difference to the region as a whole.  Even modest gifts, when combined, are very valuable as they can be added to existing endowments to help fund scholarships, research, or other areas.

The benefits associated with planning a legacy to the University include:

  • No financial obligation during one’s lifetime.
  • Knowledge that at present there is no payment of inheritance tax in Ireland on a legacy to UL, where the Revenue Commissioners are satisfied that the legacy is applied for the charitable purposes of the University. If you are a resident of the USA, you can direct your gift to the University of Limerick Foundation Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) US charity.
  • The opportunity to commemorate an individual or family and to create a living testimony for future generations to enjoy and appreciate.

Please consult your legal and tax advisors before making any decisions based on this information.

Letting us know your intentions assists us in planning for the future and gives us the opportunity to thank you for your support.  For further information, please contact us on: (email) foundation@ul.ie or (tel:) 061-337087
